Our team at Blue Ridge Hotel Textiles has partnered with CiCLO® Sustainable Textile Technology developing commercialized synthetic staple fibers for use in hotel products. The benefit to using CiCLO® fiber is that it biodegrades at similar rates to natural fibers like wool. Our CiCLO® products, combined with our proprietary 100% cotton fabric shells, will biodegrade in commercial landfills and waste recycling waterways in 3-4 years versus 200-500 years for polyester fibers that are widely used in hotels today. Microfiber pollution in our oceans, lakes, and rivers, along with landfills, is an extremely urgent problem today and most of it is caused by synthetic fibers used in textiles. That’s why we partnered with Intrinsic Advanced Materials, LLC, a Parkdale, Inc. company.

There is a fast-growing list of major textiles producing companies and brands that have been testing CiCLO® for 3-1/2 years and are rolling out now. You will see these brands advertising CiCLO® this fall. Target Stores has announced widespread adoption of CiCLO®. A major apparel brand found at almost every retailer in North America is announcing this fall. Many more brands already have it shipping.
